The ON armchair, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, reflects the architect’s celebrated exploration of fluid, sensual form. Best known for his seminal role in the creation of Brasília, Niemeyer brought his architectural language of sweeping curves into a rare body of furniture designs, of which the ON armchair is a compelling example.

Executed in laminated pau ferro, the piece is defined by its sculptural armrests, continuous, flowing elements that echo the structural poetry of his buildings. The restrained upholstered seat provides a quiet counterpoint, balancing material richness with formal clarity.

Produced in limited contexts and seldom encountered on the market, Niemeyer’s furniture designs occupy a unique position between architecture and collectible design. The ON armchair stands as both a functional object and a distilled expression of Brazilian modernism at its most iconic.
